The East Mountain Food Panty provides grocery-style food items to over 375 food-insecure households that live in the East Mountain area each month.  Clients may come once a month to receive groceries and USDA commodities and twice a week to get fresh produce.  Clients must be lower income and reside between Carnuel-Edgewood (east-west) and Golden-Chilili (north-south).  We have households ranging between a single individual to multi-generational households of more than ten individuals.  The vast majority of our clients live in Bernalillo Country but we also provide for some of those in Santa Fe, Sandoval and Torrance Counties. We currently distribute food on four different days each week totaling 15 hours.  Our incredible 50+ volunteers live in the East Mountains as well as Albuquerque.  They help with our food distribution, food deliveries and a variety of tasks as needed.  On 4/19/19 we moved into our new location, 1342 NM 333 • Suite B • Tijeras NM 87059, which more than doubled our space and now allows clients to actually ‘shop’ for their food items.
