“Way of the Drum” Performance

“The Way of the Drum” —  Arnold Herrera will take the audience on a journey to his native Cochiti Pueblo by sharing his personal experiences, traditional stories and teachings while demonstrating steps in constructing the famous Cochiti drum. Participants will also have a chance to construct their own drum! This FREE special Libraries Rock! Summer Reading Program event features the Chautauqua Program made possible by the New Mexico Humanities Council and the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Arnold Herrera of Cochiti Pueblo and lifelong New Mexico artist, is a master of several traditional Pueblo art forms, a cultural interpreter, and preservationist.
