Discover a day of fun and outdoor adventure. Edgewood’s annual celebration, Route 66 Run, Rally & Rock, kicks off on Saturday, August 5th with a 10:00am parade along its namesake road starting at Linnie Court and continuing east onto Plaza Loop. Spectators will find Rich Ford Edgewood transformed to be half dealership, half party, for a full day filled with games, bouncies, EXPO exhibitors, entertainment, and free food. The celebration is capped off with a fireworks spectacular hosted by Rich Ford is at last light, approximately 8:30pm.

Admission is free for all activities. Route 66 Run, Rally & Rock spectators are encouraged to get their parade viewing location staked out early before the highway is closed to traffic. Ample parking is available along the parade route and at various temporary lots near Rich Ford. Evening fireworks can be viewed from numerous Edgewood locations along Route 66 and Plaza Loop.

While in Edgewood, explore a little more. The town is currently hosting Edgewood Arts Trail (five temporary, life-sized art installations by New Mexico artists, thanks to New Mexico Arts). Edgewood is also home to the Trinkets & Treasures Trail (30+ vendors for art, antiques, and hand-crafted items), and Wildlife West Nature Park which hosts summer Saturday evening Chuckwagon BBQ & Show (reservations required by 2pm; August 5th entertainment by the Buckarettes). It’s the only chuckwagon anywhere with a free flight falcon show as an opener.

To reach Edgewood from Albuquerque, take scenic Route 66 east through Tijeras Canyon and continue one more crest past Sedillo Hill (approximately 20 miles east of Tramway). Edgewood can also be reached from Interstate 40 at exit 187. Details on August 5th Edgewood activities will be available on Facebook @Route66RunRallyRock and at www.Edgewood-NM.gov website.
